REGISTER
OF PROBATE IANNELLA LAUNCHES NEW INTERNET WEB SITE; PROBATE
& FAMILY COURT INFO / SELF-HELP KITS NOW AVAILABLE
ON-LINE:
Suffolk
County Register of Probate Richard Iannella officially
launched his new Internet Web site this week. The new site
contains detailed information about the many programs and
services of the Probate and Family Court Registry, as well as
self-help kits for use by those who choose to come to court
without an attorney.
“It
seems that most everybody now has access to the Internet, and
it has always been my priority to make as much information
available as possible on-line. Hopefully, those needing our
services can now save on phone calls or trips to the
courthouse by simply clicking a mouse from their home or
office,” he said.
The
site includes information helpful to Registry users, including
details on all Registry programs and services, listings of
filing fees and contact information, court brochures and
publications, and copies of many of the self-help kits
designed to help those who come to court without an attorney.
“I
especially recommend the ‘virtual tour’ of the Registry
that is available on our new site,” said Iannella. “I
suggest that anyone who might need to use our services takes a
moment to watch the presentation in order to see just how the
Registry operates.”
The
launching of the new Internet Web site is the latest of
Register Iannella’s Community Outreach efforts. In November
2000, Iannella opened the Addington Resource Center –
Massachusetts’ first self-help center for those coming to
court without a lawyer. He also expanded the “Lawyer for the
Day” program to further assist self-represented litigants,
and last fall, began to hold informational meetings in
neighborhoods throughout Suffolk County. A full schedule of
community meetings resumes in April, and the meeting schedule
is available on-line at the new Web site.
The
Internet address of the new Web site is: www.probatecourtiannella.com.
Those using the address of an older site formerly used by
Iannella will automatically be redirected to the new site.
(Because
the Trial Court does not fund the development and posting of
Web sites for individual divisions, the new site is maintained
at private expense, and is an unofficial Internet site for the
Registry.)
