SOUTH
BOSTON MAN / REGISTRY SUPERVISOR RECEIVES TOP EMPLOYEE HONORS
FROM TRIAL COURT:
The
Massachusetts Trial
Court has honored South Boston resident James Gavaghan with an
Employee Excellence Award. Chief Justice Barbara Dortch-Okara
presented the award to Operations Supervisor Gavaghan during a
special event held in Springfield last week. Gavaghan and
other award recipients were nominated by their peers and
selected by a panel of court supervisors and employees.
Gavaghan,
41, is the son of Ted and Mary Gavaghan and has been a
life-long City Point resident.
With
nearly 15 years of service to the court, Gavaghan’s
supervisors and colleagues agree that there are few words to
accurately describe his level of dedication to public service
and depth of knowledge about the probate process and other
legal issues.
Register
of Probate Richard Iannella bears witness to that fact:
“Because of his experience and institutional knowledge, he
is definitely my ‘go-to’ guy. He knows what he is talking
about, and I’m glad he’s on our team.” Iannella,
meanwhile, presented Gavaghan with a special Register’s
Citation marking the honor prior to the awards ceremony.
“I
can’t even begin to tell you enough good things about Jim
because there aren’t words enough to do him justice,” says
Deputy Assistant Register Rosanne Lagorio. “He is one of the
most knowledgeable people around here. I don’t care what
position you hold – you’ll find yourself turning to him
quite often to get answers to your questions.”
Asked
to summarize the level of respect and admiration that Gavaghan
has earned, long-time friend and co-worker Jack Minihan was
quick to respond. “He knows the Probate Court system as well
as anybody in Massachusetts, and his expertise is
extraordinary. He absorbed everything early on, and still does
everything that he can to learn more – even now. He earned
my respect a long time ago, and even if he weren’t my
friend, I’d still have nothing but great things to say about
him.”
